What is Mythic+?

A Mythic+ dungeon is a rewarding and challenging mode in World of Warcraft where a group of 5 players can conquer an endlessly scaling dungeon. It is also known as M+, Mythic Plus, or MPlus. This page is an overview of Mythic+, if you’re looking for a more in depth guide, check out our Beginners or Intermediate guides.

M+ Objectives

  • Kill all the bosses
  • Kill enough enemy forces in the dungeon
  • Complete the dungeon before the timer is up

Mythic+ Affixes

In an m+ dungeon run, there can be a maximum of three modifiers referred to as “affixes” that introduce extra challenges. The affixes available in mythic+ keystones changes on a weekly basis.

Level 2 Affixes

Bosses health increased by 30% and damage increased by 15%

On Tyrannical weeks, you’ll want to make sure cooldowns are up for bosses.

Non-boss enemies health increased by 20% and damage increased by 30%

On Fort weeks, watch out even more for key trash mob pack interrupts.

Level 7 Affixes

Enemies periodically cause gouts of flame to erupt beneath the feet of distant players.

Look out for little volcanoes spawning under you and move. This will only spawn on ranged players.

Enemies periodically summon damaging whirlwinds.

Grey swirls form in melee and knock you up. Tanks can eat these to help keep the area clear.

Entangling vines periodically appear and snare players.

Movement immunities will clear this and a pally in the group can clear for 2 with freedom. Otherwise, just run out before the time expires.

While in combat, 1-2 Afflicted souls appear every 30 seconds. They must be healed to full or cleansed before they cast Afflicted Cry, which reduces all players haste by 100% for 10 seconds.

Any ability that can cleanse/dispel poisons, diseases, or curses will work.

Incorporeal beings appear and reduces damage and healing by 50% if not CC’d.

CC these when they spawn, most of the stops work. Stuns, fears, paralyze, imprison, traps, etc…

Level 14 Affixes

When any non-boss enemy dies, its death cry empowers nearby allies, temporarily increasing their damage by 20%.

Try to kill everything evenly so that a lone trash mob isn’t bolstered very long.

When slain, non-boss enemies explode, causing all players to suffer damage over 4 sec. This effect stacks.

Watch your stacks and slow dps when you’re around 3-5 stacks until it falls off. Can be dispelled.

Non-boss enemies enrage at 30% health remaining, temporarily granting immunity to crowd control effects.

This isn’t much of a big deal unless there’s a stop needed or the mob is a runner. Can be soothed off.

When non-boss enemies die, ghosts spawn and pursue random non-tank players.

Don’t focus attacks on these, use any roots you have, but just avoid for the most part. Stay out of melee range of these because they slap.

When slain, non-boss enemies leave behind a pool of blood that heals their allies and damages players.

Try moving things as they’re dying so nothing really stands around in it. Knockbacks are also very helpful on sanguine weeks.

Routes

Most dungeons will allow you to run from boss to boss and get your 100% mobs needed. We do recommend that if you’re new to tanking or m+ or just in general, that you should run as a dps as well. It’s a pretty vital learning method to see how other tanks and healers perform in keys. Unfortunately you don’t really have any comparison as a tank or healer if that’s the only role you run.

Raider.io provides Weekly Routes if you’d like a route to follow for beginner and intermediate players. For the larger pulls, you can also check out Play Like the Pros routes. Otherwise, Keystone Guru is a great resource to find routes.
